Active ingredients
- DHA: DiHydroxyAcetone is found in almost all self-tanners. DHA reacts with the amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, in the top layer of your skin. In the process, coloured melanoidins are formed. Melanoidins are polymers that give your skin or hair its tan. Since these melanoidins bind to the amino acids in your skin, it is not possible to wash off the brown colour. After a while, the tan fades as it “wears off”. Peelings will therefore speed up the colour fading process.
- Erythrulose: Erythrulose is often found in self-tanners. Erythrulose is a natural sugar molecule and is found, for example, in red raspberries. When using self-tanners, erythrulose reacts with the amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, in the upper layer of the skin. In the process, coloured melanoidins are formed. Melanoidins are polymers that give the skin its tan. Since these melanoidins bind to the amino acids in your skin, it is not possible to wash off the brown colour. After a while, the tan fades as the top layer of your skin “wears off”. Peelings will therefore speed up the colour fading process. Erythrulose is often found in self-tanners in combination with DHA and reacts with the skin more slowly than DHA. Erythrulose allows the skin to stay tanned longer. It is a more expensive substance and is therefore often found in more luxurious self-tanners.
- Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is a gel-like substance extracted from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. This plant is officially related to the lily, but is very similar in appearance to a cactus. The scientific name of the plant is: Aloe Barbadensis.Aloe Vera contains many vitamins, minerals and proteins that are important for the skin. Aloe gel can stimulate, soothe and calm the skin in various areas. Helps in healing skin damage, Anti-aging, soothes skin and helps against irritation, addresses dry skin.
- Vitamin C: Whereas many brands limit themselves to the DHA in tanning drops, Pascaud goes a step further by adding vitamin C as well. Vitamin C is an important antioxidant. And since the effect of self-tanning is based on oxidation, it is important for good skincare to also add an antioxidant. In addition, vitamin C has an inhibiting effect on the formation of pigmentation spots, giving you a beautifully even complexion.
- Hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid is a moisture binder par excellence!
