Active ingredients
- Chaulmoogra oil (Taraktogenos Kurzii / Hydnocarpus carpii): Chaulmoogra oil is a triglyceride that is extracted from the seeds of the Hydnocarpus tree. This oil has been used since time immemorial because of its medicinal effect. Already at the beginning of the 20th century this oil was used to combat leprosy (Hansen's disease) and tuberculosis. The composition of the fatty acids is quite unique, it contains: Hydnocarpic acid, Gorlic acid and Chaulmoogric acid. These fatty acids are able to inhibit the growth of bacteria that not only cause leprosy and tuberculosis. It was discovered that also acid-stable bacteria such as Lactobacillus acnes, which is responsible for acne vulgaris, are eliminated. With startling results.
- Guggul extract (Commiphora Mukul): the guggul is a tree that grows in India. Traditional healers have been using sap that drips from the tree for centuries after you have made incisions in it. Skin applications of guggulp preparations are to improve the texture of the skin and to inhibit inflammation. Myrrhanol A. is in guggul powder. Japanese researchers discovered that it inhibits inflammation. Better than cortisone. Also with experimentally induced forms of arthritis, guggule extracts were found to work just as well as the known pharmacological anti-inflammatory drugs phenylbutazone and ibuprofen.
